The Shellcracker is a line of Badnik, modelled after a fiddler crab, that was created by Dr. Eggman to serve as part of his robot forces in his efforts to conquer the world.
History[]
Past[]
A Shellcracker was used to move doctor Eggman’s throne during the capture off Fang’s Gang (Fang the hunter: #3)
Fallout[]
After Sonic the Hedgehog managed to defeat Eggman in their previous encounter, the doctor disappeared. However, his robot forces remained and continued to attack without a leader. Among these robots were the Shellcrackers. Eventually, badniks came under the control of Neo Metal Sonic, who made them and their fellow Badniks more cohesive. (StH: #1, #7)
Post-Metal virus[]

Some time after the metal virus pandemic, at least two shellcrackers began to attack Vista View. (Sonic the Hedgehog 5th Anniversary Edition)

Appearance[]
Personality[]
Basically, the Shellcracker is a mindless and silent drone programmed to follow its leader's every command. As such, when left without a leader to follow, it becomes directionless and only able to cause harm by accident. Under a guiding force however, it is a cold and merciless machine who carries out their commands without question.

Background Information[]
- The Shellcracker was based on the [1] in the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series.
- Parts of a badnik similar to a Shellcracker can be seen amongst the pile of junk in Gene Gadget of Flicky Island (in reality, it was based off an unused crab badnik in Sonic 3D blast).
