While resting in the Mushroom Hill Zone (Classic) on Angel Island (Classic), a Pocky handed a yellow chaos emerald. Already knowing that trouble is afoot from the emeralds, the gem was snatched out of his hand by a red blur that is revealed to be Metal Knuckles. The two fought, with Metal Knuckles endangering the animals by using its claws to slice the giant mushrooms. The trail led Knuckles to the Spring Hill Zone, where he witnessed Sonic falling after trying to grab the emerald from Metal Sonic. The echidna grabbed his hand, to Sonic's surprise at being there, expecting it to be tails.

Background Information

  • Classic Knuckles is based on his original design that was used in the early games, before the release of Sonic Adventure. As of Sonic Generations, it has been retconned as a past version of the character and is even considered a different timeline. The classic versions of Knuckles , alongside the classic version of the others have since been popular Generations onwards, especially in Sonic Mania.
