The coordinates lead Tangle and Whisper to an apparently disused Eggman Empire Bunker. While Tangle could barely contain her excitement on her new adventure, Whisper, who was looking at the Egg Bunker through her binoculars, urgently shushes her friend.

After Tangle and Whisper entered the vault, they went in different directions in order to find Mimic. However, Mimic was already one step ahead and fooled Tangle by pretending to be Whisper, luring her towards a safe, and realizing too late that Whisper did not have her variable Wispon. The fake Whisper then kicked her in the vault. Mimic then shapeshifted to Tangle and began to search for Whisper, when Whisper told her to identify herself, "Tangle" told her she was ambushed by Mimic, who ruined her clothes. Satisfied with the answer, Mimic then lead Whisper to the Egg Hammer. Hopping on top of the super badnik, Mimic taunts Whisper that when replicating someone, he can also replicate them with damaged clothing.

Whisper then used the pink and orange Wispons to sever the Egg Pawn's ball-chain weapon and ultimately the badnik, respectively.

Mimic jumping off before the Egg pawn, threw a bomb at the wolf, with whisper escaping the explosion with her Wispon hover mode. Standing on top of a pile of crates, Mimic attempted to use a blaster gun, only for Whisper to not only disarm Mimic, but also destroy the crates Mimic was standing on, making him fall over.

After complimenting Whisper on her lucky shot, an angry Whisper set her Wispon to hammer mode, demanding to know where Tangle is. Mimic answered her, while changing his appearance to each of her fallen comrades in an attempt to taunt her. After Whisper hit him in the stomach while as Smithy, he revealed that not only is Tangle locked up in a safe and with limited air, and that if she doesn't run out of air, then the bombs he placed to blow up the base would. Realizing that she had no choice to leave Mimic in order to save her friend, she quickly ran to find the safe.

Mimic, meanwhile, locked up the entrance to the Eggbunker, confident that he has taken care of her. After finding the safe, Whisper used her Spike mode Wispon to destroy the supporting bolts to the safe door, Tangle crawled out of the safe, and that she was suffering from claustrophobia. After quickly telling Tangle that there were bombs in place, they heard a loud boom, indicating that the bombs were in the process of going off. Mentioning that she is gonna hate what comes next, she pushes Whisper into the safe, following her, and used her tail to pull the safe door shut, just in time before the entire bunker blew up around them.

After the explosions, all that was left was a giant crater with the closed safe still intact. The door is then pushed out by Tangle's strong tail. Tangle then flung herself out of the safe, with Whisper in tow. With Tangle complaining about how everything else was destroyed, a shaky Whisper told the lemur to go home. Tangle admitted to her that she screwed up, getting tricked despite being aware of Mimic's ability to shapeshift. She then firmly stated that it won't happen again, with Whisper turning from her friend saying a simple no. Tangle grabbed Whisper firmly on the shoulder, pleading with her to prove herself that she was not a failure, with Whisper replying she wasn't. Tangle then asked "why", which Tangle then took off her mask, revealing that she was crying, that she does not want to lose another friend. Whisper then sat on the entrance of the vault, drying up her tears. Tangle sat down next to Whisper, then saying that she knows that the wolf was hurt and it runs deep, then suggested that she should let it out, promising that the she will shut up and listen. After thinking for a few seconds, she then agreed to tell her everything...
