The Death Crab is a line of Super Badnik, created by Dr. Eggman to serve as some of his tougher robot forces in his efforts to conquer the world.
History[]
The War to Take Back the Planet[]
After getting ahold of a mysterious artifact known as the Phantom Ruby, Dr. Eggman successfully defeated and captured Sonic and conquered the majority of the planet. Either directly before this victory or shortly after, the Death Crab was created and used by Eggman and his Eggman Empire. Thanks to the help of the Resistance (formed by Sonic's friends and allies and comprised of many more soldiers), other allies, and a past version of himself from an alternate reality, Sonic was freed and helped to stop Dr. Eggman's conquest and save the world from his clutches.[2][3]
Fallout[]
At least one Death Crab was among the horde of Badniks that remained following the War and continued to attack without a leader. Eventually, the Death Crab came under the control of Neo Metal Sonic, who made it and its fellow Badniks more cohesive. (StH: #1, #7)
The Death Crab appeared and attacked a town, but Sonic arrived and seemingly defeated it with multiple attacks and a Spin Dash. It managed to get back up, but was finished off by Amy Rose wielding her Piko Hammer. The two heroes soon found out that the Death Crab's true intention was to serve as a distraction so that more Badniks could invade the town from elsewhere. (StH: #2)
Appearance[]
The Death Crab is a crab-based robot at the size of a building. It possesses a round, disk-shaped body with a massive and brown spiked shell on top and a pale underbelly. Up front on its body it has several red, featureless eyes, a small flat nose, and a pair of relatively small, brown claws. It also has eight massively large and long crustacean-based legs made of brown metal with spiked lower sections and flat feet. Several of its joints are also lit up by red lights.
Personality[]
Basically, the Death Crab is a mindless and silent drone programmed to follow its leader's every command. As such, when left without a leader to follow, it becomes directionless and only able to cause harm by accident. Under a guiding force however, it is a cold and merciless machine that carries out its commands without question. It is also highly persistent for an Eggman robot, as it tried getting back up even in a badly damaged state.
Abilities[]
Owing to its massive size, the Death Crab possesses enough strength to topple trees with ease. It has no particular armaments, using its sheer size and strength to simply crush anything that stands in its way.

Background Information[]
- The Death Crab was based on the robot of the same name in the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series where is was introduced in Sonic Forces. It was unnamed in the comic, but is considered tier 2 canon by this site's canon policy, as it does not contradict already established canon from tier 1.
